I am a Chiefs fan but the use of the sideline as a safety blanket has to go. Same thing with these garbage roughing the passer calls: After the game, Rodgers didn't agree with that call.
I started watching NFL in 1973. Modern NFL is completely unrecognizable. Its like flag football compared to the 1970s great defenses like the Steel Curtain & the Purple People Eaters. Its become a parody. That is the effect of too much money, nobody wants to get hurt anymore so they make the rules soft. The reason there were no running QBs back then is you would get destroyed by Linebackers going cross the middle. I remember watching Roger Staubach and he was probably the best running quarterback that had some success but he left the league due too many concussions & injuries. Danny White, who took over, was a lot smarter and didn't try to do what Staubach did. Of course he was the Punter, Placeholder & backup QB and that changed after he became the starter. I think the QB that was a legitimate running QB was Randall Cunningham, but he also had a great throwing arm. He was tall and a very good athlete. He was also a Punter in his college days at UNLV. He would launch some 3rd & long punts especially when the Eagles were a terrible team. I remember watching him launch a 90+ yard punt on a 3rd and a mile against Dallas.
