Brother's friend asked about this investment.
    https://invest.newsmax.com/

1-Media is something I have little knowledge in and I feel MSM is losing out to social media for news.

    2-Covertible preferred with 7% yield.

    3-Accredited investors only.

4-Looking at the faces on the website, they must be a conservative media outlet. I watch very little TV so have never seen Newsmax.

    Any opinion as an investment?
I have no interest but will pass along any opinions.
IF I were interested in the company, I'd wait until it goes public.
    Thanks

you both should invest heavily. It would be unamerican if you didn’t. any money you give newsmax helps stick it to the liberals.

They have Gretta Van Susteren on at 6PM. I think she's a straight shooter. And yeah I know, she used to work at Fox so you guys probably instantly hate her... but whatever. She's had a pretty distinguished career, Georgetown Law degree, and she also used to work at CNN. I dvr both her and Cramer in that time-slot, and then breeze thru them both at some point. I like her. :D

edit... and MSNBC. I just read this:

newsmax was the largest peddler of the right wing conspiracy theories.

no. The firm. I don’t know anything about her except she has been on a few networks (they seem to jump around like investment bankers)

I post her wiki bio (link). I don't think she's into "right wing conspiracy theories."
    Just a hunch.
As for the rest of their lineup... no idea.

News media is a tough business to make money in. Fox News has been successful but most independent news media eventually fails. Even Vice never really succeeded, although thwy did some success.

I remember the magazine George run by JFK, Jr and backed by Conde Nast didn't even succeed, of course that was in the early 2000s. I guess you can say that Reddit has been a success so far which was partially owned by Conde Nast as well.

I think Fox News has been a success due to being the only mainstream alternative to the perception of leftist bias of essentially every other news source on cable. That is their success, on cable but cable is dying. It seems like it is a boomer & rural led phenomenon.

The strangest Fox property is the Fox Business Channel which doesn't really talk about the stock market or Wall Street much except from the 2-4 PM slots. The rest of the time it is really an extension of Fox News. Even the former CNBC anchor Maria Bartiromo really spends most of her time talking about politics and not markets like she used to do on CNBC as the "Money Honey".
