I have read some books, listened to many podcasts about it, now I really want to try it. What app would you advice me using? I fancy the idea of fundamental analysis and investing as well. I can't afford an app, I live in a 3rd world country.
TradingView offers real-time chart for stocks and also provide fundamental analysis. So I suggest you take the opportunity to paper trade your strategies.
I would suggest you try to save some money first. If you can't afford an app (i guess you mean a platform and or data), you shouldn't invest or trade either. Only trade with money you can afford to lose. Never ever take a loan to trade ... If you ever plan on going live, make sure you have a strategy that has a statistical edge = make sure you know the strategy is profitable from statistics, BEFORE you put any money in it. Don't try to create a profitable strategy with real money, it wont work and you will slowly (or very fast) lose all your money. Edit: Maybe the most important one of all, make sure to be very cautious in taking advice from (most of the) people on this forum
books are very difficult to understand. take a TA course I mean face to face that will be more helpful
I learnt more reading lots of books in my early days. Sometimes reading a book two or three times. I would learn more or take something else away from the author every time I read the book. In my experience most people that offer trading courses do not actually know to trade, offer some loose principles, no systems and leave more questions then give answers. You can learn all this from some reputable books. I could easily offer a course, charge £2000 to £5000 per student, and get new students all the time! But it doesn't sit right with me, because a book would cover that for new aspiring trader. If you do go down the course route look up Larry Williams who has been trading for well over 50 odd years and is well know and well respected. Invest in yourself before you put your money to work! Learn, learn and learn! Watch prices, research markets and try and find a style of trading that suits you! Don't rush, there are ALWAYS opportunities in markets. Best of luck!
