Installed & ran (VERY SLOW) for less than 2 minutes before it froze up ( ...... not responding). Uninstalled. Experiment over. ***Opened TWS right after & it worked fine.
IB's software People are saying now that TWS is great after calling it a piece of garbage for years. Imagine how that new "desktop" version has to be. They don't have a version for Linux, by the way.
TWS is not garbage, it's charting is, but the rest is powerful. What did you expect? It's meant for investing portfolio style not trading.
I tried the Windows version on a VM and it looks ok, I didn't have issues. They added Trading View charts to the main screen and it is responding quite well. They throw at you a big disclaimer saying that is for retail trading, but I don't see why they would like to keep torturing pros with TWS, they should move everything to this version. We'll see.
