The colors are too bright. Lacks contrast. It looks like Wilmott website. Should have kept old ET colors. Also, old layout was better b/c it listed new fresh posts. So you could read what are the hot topics. The new layout has lots of stale posts that I have to scroll thru. Plus, I have to scroll thru forums I don't care about. Hard to get to hot trending posts.
Wrong! Go to the bottom of the page at the left, hit the modern link. There you can choose from modern or classic. To see new posts look up at the top of the page and hit the new posts link. You will see all of the newest posts there. There are actually a lot of new features with the new ET that are better than the old ET.
The classic link doesn't give old ET website colors. Old ET website colors were darker with more contrast. Also, the "recent posts" button at the top left of the ET website doesn't appear on Chrome even after I request desktop version. The links to recent posts appear in red font on classic ET style! Red font on bright brown background! Hard on the eyes. The recent post links also show topic starter, date, and forum. This information should be on the right side. It clutters the list and makes reading the list harder than before. Been reading ET since almost inception. Old ET website layout was best out of many trader websites I have read. Just a tweak would have been better.
I hate to tell you, but the classic ET style has always been a medium-tan background with black text and red links. Here is the view from this time last year:
I'm actually quite liking it now. The major improvements with the alerts showing up, auto saving of drafts as you type up a reply, and how easy it is to attach images makes the overall usability so much better now. If anything, I would just like to see the option back for allowing me to choose how many messages I show on a page (10 is too little for my tastes), and perhaps even showing this on the top as well as bottom of the page. Its awesome how you can scroll within this bar to display any page number you like to make it easy to jump ahead or back, so that is some really nice programming there!
Yes, that looks like a picture of the old Elite Trader website. You could see that the colors were darker. E.g. the color green was darker. The old ET website had the same colors but in a darker shade. Reading it was easier due to less eyestrain.
My argument is, that a guy with 13 posts doesn't hold much sway on this site. It's all opinion, after-all. Contribute more and bitch less.
