wasn't tony just telling us the nfl was doing fine... never trust a lefty when it comes to sports... or government. too much boring packaged football with far too many ads and breaks was one problem. wealthy guys taking a knee during the national anthem was a bigger problem. http://www.breitbart.com/sports/201...-canceling-ten-thursday-night-football-games/ Network executives are scrambling to solve the growing problem of crashing ratings for the National Football League, by cutting games to end the perceived “over-saturation” of football on TV. To put an end to the sliding ratings, the executives are proposing that fewer games may be the ticket to stop that “over-saturation,” with one idea being to cut Thursday Night Football by a whopping ten games. The idea to trim Thursday Night Football from 18 games a season to only eight was first reported by Sports Business Journal and was part of a plan to reverse the ratings crash that also includes pulling games played in the U.K. back to 1 PM eastern time (6PM London time). Ratings are still down despite the small rise seen in Week 7. NBC Sports is off 21 percent from 2015, CBS Sports is down 14 percent compared to 2015, and ESPN’s Monday Night Football has sunk 17 percent over 2015.
Discussions about ending Thursday night football are not new https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...ng-about-eliminating-thursday-night-football/ NFL reportedly thinking about eliminating 'Thursday Night Football' Drastic changes could soon be coming to NFL football on Thursday nights by John Breech Nov 28, 2016 <<<<<<<<< After 10 years of "Thursday Night Football," the NFL might finally be ready to call it quits. According to Pro Football Talk, the NFL is mulling the possibility of eliminating "Thursday Night Football," which would be a drastic move after sticking with it for more than a decade. If the NFL isn't ready to get rid of Thursday night games, PFT added that there's also a chance that the league will limit the number of games in the near future. Of course, it's unlikely that anything would happen before the end of the 2017 season. In February 2016, both CBS and NBC signed up for two seasons of Thursday night games in a contract that expires at the end of 2017. After that deal runs out, the NFL could conceivably do whatever it wants with Thursday night games, including the possibility of eliminating them altogether. There's also the possibility that nothing will happen. In a statement to CNBC on Monday, the league disputed the report from ProFootballTalk.
do you acknowledge your own racism? in your mind... can non white people be racist? in you mind is it wrong to be racist in general or just wrong for whites?
You are trying to credit it to Trump and republicans. The NFL is not bowing down to republicans demands to get the black players in line and stop challenging white supremacy so y'all hope for The NFL's downfall and try to take credit for anything negative that happens to the league. The NFL is still the # 1 sport in The US and racist republicans tantrums hasn't changed that.
Another brilliant idea. Fans are losing interest so let's give them even less reason to be connected to the games. People are not tuning out because there are too many games. They are tuning out because there are too many lousy boring games. Played by a bunch of dimwitted thugs who assume we need to be lectured about our racism.
To me this has nothing to do with trump or republicans. Its the the fact that these foolish NFL players are carrying out the work of leftists. If the players keep this up much longer they will be seeing big pay cuts in the future and they have accomplished nothing. ( I can wait to see how they whine about that.) If they wanted to do something... they can lead. They can spend money, raise money and make a difference. They could call Jim Brown.
