I've traded options for years and finally decided to upgrade to a Portfolio margin account. Not sure that was a good move. The tests (yes, 2 of them) that they sent covers things that I never think about let alone have a good grasp of. I spotted some old tests with answers in this forum but does anyone have recent test answers? I'm stuck on 6 questions.
Yikes....You sure you want portfolio margin?? Why are you switching?? I do it as I can ratio till the cows come home
Depending on the stocks you trade and if you are a seller of ATM vs OTM.PM may not help..Im taling about stocks where they simulate up/down 50 percent
I sell Puts with strike prices that are ITM and expirations 3-4 months out which require significant margins. My friend has been doing the same for over 10 years and margin portfolio has benefitted him so I think it will benefit me. I just need to find someone who will help me with a few test questions. About 5 years ago someone posted the test with answers but the test questions have changed.
For this to matter, it means you aren’t cash secured. You are better off understanding how PM works as there’s a lot more rope to hang yourself.
Although available to take online, they emailed me the tests; one for me and one for my wife. I'm the only investor. My wife wouldn't know a Put from a Putt. Our margin account is owned by our family trust so that's probably why she is supposed to take one too.
