Hi , hope you guys feel fine . I've been trying to become a profitable trader for about 3-4 years struggling with RTM - ICT - SMC and these types of courses . last year I was somehow near to my dream to become profitable ... But I had to go to military service ( not my choice ) and when I came back I just lost myself and many other things & didn't know where to start again . At the moment I'm struggling with some RTM setups like Flag Limit - Base - FTR and these things mixed with EMA for structure , by the way I have only tried currency pairs mostly EUR/USD . I wanted to ask you guys if you know any good source for learning , any good course , any good master to search for videos ... I'll appreciate if you give me clue to start again . Thanks for reading .
If you can get an increasing equity curve in sim trading with those methodz, you may have a chance in the casino with real money! Find something that works, and that you can trust.
Here is some good advice that you probably will not follow. Get a job or if you are still young, go to college then get a job. Then save up some money, and trade part time. If you eventually have enough money and become profitable part time trading you can go full time.
Unless you can find a professional trading job in an IB, that is the best advice for you. Been there done that.
Hi bro , thanks for your advice , surely it comes from experience and realistic perspective that I respect and agree with it , yea I'm looking up for it actually at the moment and I'm doing so . The thing I'm looking for and I asked is to find a reliable recourse like a course or name of a master that have been tested by members to become profitable even for that part time trade as a job that you mentioned .
Hi Ironchef , thanks for your reply , of course you are right and getting a professional trading job is solution to become full time trader , but the thing I asked is maaaany steps before that ;D I'm just looking for name or clue to become profitable even for part time and basic trade . I've got tired of finding/studying/watching many courses that after back test I found out it was waste of time and useless thing . I'm not looking for shortcut . I just want to find something that at least after spending a lot of time on it I know I'm keeping my effort on right recourse .
Well the short and probably unwelcome news is that you need to think for yourself rather than seek out a guru. But the good news is that's got a process to it too. Trading (the underlying at least) boils down to predictions which comes from the process of ideas > test > trade. So where are those ideas coming from? It's not magic. - If they're coming from retail shills - clowns like ICT - you're done for from the start. - If they're coming from things you or someone else have noticed on a chart, you could spend decades chasing your tail - you'll likely have no idea why they work plus your discoveries are very, very likely to decay. - If they're coming from macro factors, your trading will be limited to longer timeframes. Not to be sniffed at but not suitable intraday. - If they're coming from how the market actually operates then you've a way, way, way, higher chance of stumbling across something profitable. So kick off with all the basics of the FX market, leaving no stone unturned. Pricing, structure of MMs, delivery, how big orders are legged in, venues, predictable volatility changes, session times, key participants, how money flows from one currency to another, how risk is handled by tier1s etc. None of it will seem like you're heading anywhere for a while but this work genuinely pays off. You'll then have ideas. You then test. You then trade. The whole retail industry, at least in FX is geared around telling you what you want to hear. It rarely aligns with what you actually need to do.
Hi trismes ! hope you feel great . Thank you so much for your good answer ! I appreciate your time ! I totally accept your reply , and its reasonable . You mentioned ICT... I spend alot of time on ICT and RTM . I think I should look for good courses for things you mentioned on last paragraph like Money flow &... because I think these things are too complicated to find or understand by myself and take decades to work as you mentioned . am I right ?
First, I deeply sorry to say none of the consistently retail profitable traders I know use ICT/SMT. There are those who use ICT/SMT who successfully got paid by those bucket shop prop firms but they end up burst the accounts. It's luck. I assume your interest is in day trading forex/futures because you mentioned ICT/SMT. Your best chance is either get mentored by professional day traders or build up your own system (which may take years or never figure out your whole life). Personally, I suggest to delve into shorting low cap stock instead of forex/futures for day trading. It is much easier because stock is less efficient than forex/futures. That's the advice I would give to my younger self.
