I use Limit on Open orders on NASDAQ from time to time. When I get executed, I get the opening price or pretty near it. Quite often, however, my buy limit order is at or above the opening price and I don't get filled. That happens less often when I am selling on the open. That is, when my sell limit order is at or below the opening price, there are relatively few occasions when I am not filled. I don''t think this is a broker problem; I think that this is a problem with my understanding the opening cross on NASDAQ. I have used smart routing and I have used direct routing to Supersoes with approximately the same results. Does anybody have advice on how I can get a higher percentage of these orders filled?
