My Trade System - Chicago

Discussion in 'Hook Up' started by BobbiDigital, Oct 15, 2013.

  1. I am in a great/frustrating place right now. After years of frustration trading I began a contract position for a company thru this January. The thing is, I absolutely found a method to extract money from the market consistently but do not currently have the time or money to set up shop. Ideally I could find a prop shop here that would pay me a check and % profits though this doesn't sound realistic witbout real results. Another option would be to sell the system to fund starting capital, but again not sure how this works. Any input would be appreciated.

The best advice I can give you, patience and time. Patience and time. The markets were here before you were born and they will be around after you die and all the time in between. Just wait till January.

obviously good advice, end of january is just 3.5 months more.
    Meanwhile, do following:

    1) Paper trade the system, keep detailed stats, plot equity curves and post on ET for all to critique
    2) Try to make improvements to EXECUTION NOT THE SYSTEM ITSELF. What will happen is that you will find it very very very very very impossible to CONSISTENTLY follow the system - ideally aim for less than 5 errors over the next 3.5 months (Examples of EXECUTION Errors would be missing trades, missing stops, missing profit targets, missing adding contracts, scaling out at correct places etc. - if all this is part of your trading plan).

    3) Please re-read step 2 above. I tell you it took me 1.5 years after developing good bactestable and forward testable strategies before I could consistently execute them.

  4. You are both right of course, thanks for the responses. I had one of those if I died today what would I have to show moments recently. I am considering the Euro markets route or 2nd shift work come January as options. Just sucks not being in the market real time given I have the whole trading game from A-Z mapped out, literally.

  5. Trading Live is a totally different ball game all together.

  6. I traded live for 3 years and made every mistake in the book. When you only risk your entry bar and understand how to trail a stop the psychological side of trading becomes more about the field, not so much yourself. It's all about thr hard right edge.
