The latest promise from Elon "the coronavirus panic is dumb" Musk:

  2. musk apparently met with medtronic about producing ventilators. quick web search reveals it can cost between 5k-50k$, wondering it could be a positive material impact in terms of revenue during shutdown? this morning, news reporsts fremont, ca and buffalo, ny (solar) plants are shutting down and NV gigafactory (batteries) are operational and apparently, the shanghai shoul be operational. as far as i know, only NY region hospitals are getting crtiically short of ventilators, i am not aware of other regions although it could change citing how corrupt and inefficient the us healthcare system is.

Been working on for a while I suspect prototype and tooling already in place, it's no problem for his young and fit staff, he doesn't employ many 70+ year olds LOL but he does understand old people will need 1000's of these soon.

Rolls Royce supposed to be working on them in the UK, but take 6months I bet, just get the first 1 made as it's all over :( Chinese and Musk can do things quick, UK it'll need 200 meetings to decide what kinda white they want it to be :(

  4. i am in disagreement with you altogether. i learn from old employees so called 70+ they are most valuable employees, i rarely have to listen to younger employees as stuff they do is often half baked and lower quality. musk will benefit from hiring 70+ old folks. younger folks with fit and fitness could be suited for assembly lines.

Give it time. We are beating Italy handsomely, it is better to be prepared and not needed than...

This situation is going to linger for months. A British company started to make them by the thousand (so this can be done), others are able to make the current machines more efficient supplying multiple patients.
