Really MSFT has products still in use, but nothing new. Same old same old, and yet Ballmer keeps getting a pass. Xbox is their best platform, and they have gone out of their way with the new release to alienate the people playing, gee what a surprise. They have caved on one issue all ready, but are they really being led by a guy who is too stupid to read about the issues the people who may or may not play their money maker have with the product? My kids have said they aren't going to upgrade. My youngest is happy as can be playing Steam games. Ballmer is killing a giant with the cash flow to change, but there is no talk of this moron being tossed and making real changes.
By shear chance as a result of a professor I bought 1000 shares of MSFT in 1989. Money that was supposed to go toward my MBA. I made it 10 years before laying off some shares, but I kick myself daily for not getting the hell out completely long ago. Cash cow means nothing when you have an idiot in charge. Lesson learned and never to be repeated. Take the money and run at the first sign of stupidity.

  2. this move has my attention, dismal earnings but they still are a force to be reckoned with. This is an interesting vol play have no idea where it is headed by thinking a pair along with the qqq with 7 x 3 ratio, just an idea. Remember this guy is running the show!!

So, what would happen if Ballmer steps down or gets kicked out?
How much % would MSFT go up? :)

And: what if Bill Gates returns as CEO ?

    :)

  4. No idea about how far it goes, but I hope I'm sitting there when the news hits. Ballmer is a train wreck.

If Bill Gates returned as CEO this stock would skyrocket. Gates may have been hated by many people, but he knew how to run the business like the back of his hand. Ballmer is just clueless on so many levels.

  6. Agreed. Ballmer just has no clear vision for the company. The problem is that when they try and compete they always find some weird way to screw up their products. Case in point – Surface. Truly not a bad platform in general, but it’s difficult to justify $1000 US for a Surface Pro and the Surface RT isn’t that great even at its current price. But, in theory it is an incredible machine – I mean packed into the Surface Pro is as much power as a real laptop. That’s an incredible achievement when you think about it, but it’s difficult to justify $1000 on basically a tablet.

Ah yes I forgot about Surface… That is a good example, or Windows phone. They need some cohesive vision for the company in general.

I think a guy bought 1 million worth of call options on MSFT with strike 36 and expiration of June. maybe the MM's saw them buying more for July and August and said, 'thanks, now we sell.'

  9. Ballmer is retiring within 12 months. MSFT up 7%.
