All the sudden my mouse pointer has a 'trail' from time to time. It's a very thin, horizontal line extending about an inch from the pointer, and has different colors. Has anyone ever seen this? Any idea how to get rid of it?

  2. For XP, try going to Control Pane > Mouse and on one of the tabs (probably Pointer Options) has a checkbox for "Display pointer trails".

Start button--->> ConttraolPanel ----->> Mouse Icon ----->> Pointer Options

    Uncheck " Display Pointer Trails"

I have Win 2K...under 'pointers' I don't have any options for 'display pointer trails.'

I'm pretty sure it's a glitch, it only shows up on occasion.

Under 'mouse properties' I have these choices...buttons, pointers, motion, hardware, activities, scrolling. Looked under all of them, couldn't find 'pointer options.'

  9. It sounds like your display is ghosting. It happens to defective or damaged LCDs.
