The top speed quoted is a governed speed. They have limiters on them. I believe the limit is 186 MPH. The cop's LIDAR likely captured the actual speed and the measurement error made it 181 MPH. Literbikes are capable of going quite a bit faster and the Kawasaki H2-R either is, or is close to, the fastest production land vehicle available for purchase. Impressive either way. Really a testament to the suspension setup and steering dampeners available on modern literbikes.
Dang, that 'Busa got near 200mph. Whenever I got my old Yam 1100 up towards 100, the front got light and scary. Kinda stoopid to go that fast on a hiway. Lots of very bad wheelchair and graveyard things can happen...
I love the TT Isle of Man! Holy crap that is insane racing. I will add in my younger and even more stupid days I took my Triumph over 160. Definitely a rush watching objects whiz by, and of course really stupid.
