1) 2.5% in China. so you got it, your chance of survival is very good! https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/6/20-0233_article 2) worldwide rate is about 3% according to WHO https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/17/what-is-coronavirus-cure-mortality-rate-covid-19-guide
Including that people who died were tested, and people who have recovered haven't even been tested I think it's within China's range. Have a contractor who had all the symptoms of it with his son after the infamous Kirkland, WA square dancing group which he is a part of got it. He is back to work this week and not part of statistics as recovered or had it. Would think there are plenty of those cases as he hunkered down and spent two weeks at home.
As UK and USA have admitted. 10% need Oxygen 5% need Ventilator. Without both available then death rate will sky rocket. Government figures, as Mukoh says, not everyone will bother to report / get tested so could reduce hugely thankfully. 4 mates yesterday, another 8 went down with it today, Mild Flu and difficulty breathing so far, hot and cold sweats, all still functional and first 4 improving within a day, maybe it gets worse, find out soon. I suspect I had it 2 weeks ago likely gave to the 12, I didn't feel right, mild chest pain and didn't go the gym for a week, but if I'm lying on my bed dying tomorrow then maybe not LOL So looks like nothing to worry about, unless you have other health issues or your old even then old on it's own isn't that bad. Lets stop the panic and lock downs and just label it a mild to severe flu.
See my analogy under options. Once the ventilators are all used, your elderly death rate is in the money. (aka in the cemetery)
Almost a TV quote from last season, ahh Shield!! Data looks really bad from Italy, 50% after 4 days need hospital care and 50% of them die within 4days, it then goes on to say average age is 86, so guessing there ownly testing the over 70's or something stupid.
The reality is that > 42% n the U.S. are obese, which will results in an declining quality of life and an untimely death. The crowd is hysterical about something they have very little if any control of & far less likely to kill them than their own gluttony. The obese are apathetic about what they do have control over - losing weight & working towards getting fit.
Let's put it this way: estimates of dead in UK were 250,000. In world war 2, about 1 million died in the UK Do we as society want that? I think not
