http://nypost.com/2014/03/12/trader...w&utm_source=NYPTwitter&utm_medium=SocialFlow Is this why ET has been so slow lately? "A Manhattan trader was killed Tuesday morning by a speeding Long Island Rail Road commuter train, marking at least the seventh suicide of a financial professional this year..."
This market is probably driving them crazy. Not everyone has the psychology to BTFD first, ask questions later. It's a momo market. Robot Trader was right all along......
You are all thinking that these suicides are related with their job or their stress... When are more probably related with their personal life and problems, maybe their relationship went wrong, they had depression for whatever thing, etc.
I am surprised that, out of all people here, you find this entertaining enough to start a sarcastic thread.
There are over 800k people employed in "finance" in this country alone and you fret that 7 (a whole 7) from a WORLD WIDE finance employment base committed suicide IN THE PAST YEAR? Let's put things in perspective and stop hyperventilating: 22 military veterans commit suicide every day
Oh stop. ET is one big circus act. I do find these events rather interesting when they cluster. I'm fully aware the media is data mining at this point searching these events out making them look more frequent then they probably are. But the latest round of suicides do have a particular lack of story behind them. I've dealt with this first hand. Chicago is notorious for the amount of floor traders who have hung themselves, stuck a shotgun in their mouth or even in the case of one female trader, jumped from a 40 story building after the crash of 87. But there was a "story" behind them where one would say, oh I see, I understand. These stories, perhaps intentional, have had very little explanation. And yes Sle, the comment about ET being slow could have some associative relationship being that there could be similiar explanatory variables in both.
I do not mean that you assign any statistical significance to these events. Mostly surprised that you are feeding genuine human tragedy to the trolling public on ET - you must have seen the prior thread on this topic.
