"Sen. Lee: GOP Scheme to Both Defund AND Fund Obamacare 'Disgraceful'"

....In an interview on the nationally syndicated Mark Levin Show yesterday, Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) slammed the Republican-led initiative to simultaneously propose legislation to fund and defund Obamacare.

Lee rhetorically asked Levin, "With Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?"

Lee explained that Republican leadership in the House of Representatives is putting forward two different legislative proposals in one single vote.

One would defund Obamacare. The other would be a continuing resolution that would fund everything in government, including Obamacare.

This would allow House Republicans to vote both to fund and defund the president's signature health law simultaneously, according to Lee.

Lee says that this proposal would then be sent the Senate which would "pull apart the two pieces of legislation," passing only the spending resolution that funds Obamacare.

"It allows for Republicans or anyone else who claims to be against Obamacare to be able to say they voted against funding Obamacare.

"And yet, still at the same time, allow them also to fund everything in government including Obamacare." Lee said.

"It is the classic Washington two-step," he added....

Douchebags. We really need to vote these back stabbing, power hungry fuckers out. [IMG]

That's only going to happen when "we" start voting en masse for libertarian/independent/third party candidates regardless of how likely they are to win.

    From Newt to Newsmax recently:

"Sen. Rand Paul was among the first guests to appear on “Crossfire” and Gingrich views the Kentuckian’s popularity as a reflection of a broader struggle taking place in society.

“It's partly libertarian and partly populist, anti-establishment,” he said, pointing to the split within the GOP over the question of authorizing U.S. military involvement in Syria.

“It’s very dangerous for traditional analysts to try to take a (Sen.) Ted Cruz or a Rand Paul or a Mike Lee (from Utah) and put them into just an ideology framework. They also exist in a psychological framework,” according to Gingrich. “They are the early warning signals of being totally fed up with the traditional Washington establishment and they don't get any of their rewards from the old order.”

He said that Paul, Cruz, and Lee don’t play traditional politics.

“Their rewards are all from people who represent the outside and who are looking at changing things, not at accommodating things,” he said. “Speaker Rayburn used to say, ‘you go along to get along.’ These guys aren't trying to get along; these guys want to in fact change the system, even if that makes some of the senior members very uncomfortable.’”

What you got to do is stop voting for Republicans or Democrats.
They are the reason we have lost the country.

If more Republican voters would wake up to this kind of shit (dems too, if applicable), we could at least move toward that goal, but on the other hand, if the progressives could move their party so far to the left, why can't the republicans move their party to the libertarian viewpoint? I think if leadership with the mindset of Mike Lee or Ted Cruz, the party might look different and actually stand for something.

It's unlikely, though, so I must agree with you.

    Too many old people.
    Too many narrow minded people.
    Too many dumb voters.
    Hillary wins in 2016.

Only possible exception right now looks like a Paul/Cruz ticket.

Both some fresh faces with some fresh ideas.
Of course, we can always stick with Boner, McCain, Graham, and McConnell.
    LOL...
Does anybody not understand why the GOP is in the shithole???

    Don't forget brother Marco Rubio.
While he isn't ready for prime time, he is well on his way.
    Just needs a little tweaking.
