Millennials are far less partisan than older voters, and their concerns are not being given a voice by either party. And while it’s true that the GOP’s future is about as healthy as cancer, there’s similarly no reason to think we’re entering an era of Democratic ascendancy. more . . .

  2. HOGWASH!

Leftism/DemoCraps/Communists have this country BY THE BALLS! And it ain't going to end until there is armed revolution.

Why? Because lazy, greedy ne'er-do-wells always vote for "more government, more freebies"... and greedy, scumbag politicos accommodate them.

The huge majority of millenials are STUPID AS A MUD FENCE... not that they don't have the grey matter... THEY DON'T BOTHER TO PAY ATTENTION!

Wow, you read the whole thing in five minutes? I'm impressed.

  4. The majority know about Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, but not the Constitution.... and will vote their own wallet.... regardless of what they say.

They voted for Odumbo, didn't they?

  5. The bottom line of the full article is that millenials are too self-absorbed, ignorant and lazy to take the time to understand issues. They make decisions based on what some clueless celebrity says or on a 10 second soundbite, their max attention span.

Of course, we get to savor the irony of them, like the moronic "coal miners for obama", voting to destroy what little hope they had of a secure economic future.

There is the glimmer of hope that they, having seen their naive dreams cruelly crushed by Obama's hard left lawlessness and incompetency, will wise up and not vote for more of the same. More likely they will be more concerned about free contraceptives and "social justice" whatever that means. It's not like they have to pay for any of it.

It would help if the republicans did not run idiots like McCain or cold fish like Romney. If, like most millenials, you know nothing about much of anything, what compelling reason is there to vote for them?

“Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.”

I disagree with this. I have three millennial age children. I find that they and their friends are very engaged with political issues, not self-absorbed, and hardworking (not lazy - I will note that all of them work in professional jobs).

The article is correct in that I find most of the millennials to be less partisan than my generation. They want politicians to reach reasonable compromises and stop the endless bickering that is leading nowhere. Most recognize the issues with U.S. debt & spending balanced against providing social services, but they have more progressive views on social issues than many of their elders.

  10. That's a tiny sample size and of course there are exceptions. But American college students scored 30% higher on the 40-item Narcissistic Personality Index in 2006 than they did in 1979, for instance, according to a study led by psychologist Jean Twenge of San Diego State University. Sample size there was >10,000 and the striking thing was how narcissism steadily ratcheted up, year by year.
