Milking late-night slow movement (ZB)

  1. From last night. I believe my commission left me at $460 net. Tonight, I'm $170 net. Will be $225 once my current contract fills.

  2. Good for you.

Now try to do that every night and you will be set for life, if you slowly pyramid your profits...

  3. Tonight has been much slower. New to futures. Figured trading at night would pose less risk. So far so good. 15 winning trade streak. My total W/L for trades is 43/7

  4. I don't know if your trading system has a real statistical edge but be very careful though, your take profit seems to be very low.

And experience /tests show that this type of trading (small profit target) usually fail in the long run, because the spread and commissions represent a big portion of your profits on each trade, percentage wise.

    Anyway, happy trading.

  5. I'm not too sure either. I'm new to trading. The 50 trades has been since I begun, not tonight. I average $94/contract on /zb, $2.50/side commission.

  6. That means you need to make 5.3% on each trade just to break even!

That's pretty high, if you consider that most hedge funds cannot make 2% a month consistently.

  7. None the less, I turned over $608.75 net last night/this morning.

  8. I'm done for today. $720 net.

  9. You are doing quite good for a beginner, enjoy while it lasts like they say :)

  10. 5.3% on what? Not on margin or the value of the contract, the cost just represented 5.3% of his profits per trade not that he has to make 5% on the account to break even.
