The cleverness of those smugglers never ceases to amaze me. They think of every angle possible. It's no wonder that there's never a shortage of drugs. What government agency could possibly tear apart every single part of every single vehicle to see if its legit or not? Or scan the bodies of every single person that crosses the border? It makes you wonder how many vehicles get torn to shreds only to reveal that they're not carrying anything illegal whatsoever?
The best one was a traveler's tent bag, placed into liquid drug, metamphetamine or smthn, dried out. Once it went through airport, they would manage to extract ~4 kilos of drugs out of it. (Might be wrong with amount, but it was surprisingly a lot)
You should check out the Nextflix series "Queen of the South" if you haven't already. Very entertaining and along the lines of this thread.
National Geographic's channel has a bunch of shows on airport security around the world as well as U.S. customs and Border Patrol. The stuff these people see and find and the places they find it is amazing. I've become an addict watching these shows.
Yup, saw a few today. Found a new ,,favorite" one. They glued pieces of coke into the sides of a cardboard box. Police dog found it. All was disquised as a delivery of some nice clothes. 280~ grams or smthn. (~$10 000)
