Hi folks, just wondering what are you experiences in getting round the max lotsize restrictions with IBKR and other brokers.

Have you had, and how have you dealt with problems of scaling your trading activity with those restrictions,

What type of size are you looking to enter with a single order? Are these penny stocks? Our limits are based on account size. They are set by compliance.

If possible it would be nice if you could keep the discussion public, could be useful for other people with similar questions.

  5. As Robert said, most firms will set the size limit based on your account balance. The current prop firm I trade with allows me to increase it on adhoc basis if I need it for a particular day

  6. I seem to remember IB has a hard max of 500,000 shares per order. More recently, they have dumb “liquidity / market impact” based maximums which vary based on recent trading volume, what type of order you’re trying to place, and I’m sure more stuff they didn’t bother to tell us. The latter can be somewhat annoying.
