Mass Quoting

  1. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a platform for market making options? It would only be for a couple of products.

Is that how a market is made? By "mass quoting"? Sounds sinister.

Actant Quote is what I used for equity options and I know someone that is using them for option on futures now.

A few solutions out there, more or less the same price (2-5k a month). You have to assume right away that you are playing vol games and giving away most of instant MM edge to the faster players

  6. Thanks, Sle. Who are the faster players? I would be interested in the faster platforms even if they cost more.

Not sure about that, but it's evidently how the bulk of some forum posts is made. o_O

Well, technically anyone can make a market by giving a quote. But MM's give constant tight quotes on multiple products and in most (if not all) options series... and since that's a large number of prices, it's called mass-quoting.

You need a very quick program to handle that and as well very fast lines with enough bandwith to pump the quotes through.

1 sec behind the market in your updates and you're looking at a big delta position in all strike you're quoting in....

Really depends on your asset class. Citadel would be a safe bet for pretty much anything.
