I was chatting with my kid & her colleagues earlier on Zoom and something I thought was so plain and obvious had gone over the head of her 20s workmates. Clearly a big generation gap in how we understand why the Jews were targets of Hitler's propaganda in WWII (and many times before this, Tomas de Torquemada etc. in the Spanish Inquisition and so on), why Trump started off with his Mexican rapists etc. and now why this has morphed into fervent anti-mask crazy. Its all about making a bad guy to circle the wagons around. Masks (now the vaccinated) are as good as Jews/Catholics/Blacks/Mexicans/freckled people etc. for their purposes of engineering an "other". I'm curious how people weight this idea that they with full malice of forethought just pivoted from race/nation to people differentiated by wearing masks? Or is it just like anything political? They want x we want y more than a new face of the enemy angle?
it's the rotating villain. Terrorists, muslims, illegals, BLM, antifa, socialists, "marxists", cancel culture, CRT, etc...
