Market crash? The sky is falling?

What about the VIX spells calamity anytime soon?....Looks more like a good decade of ranging between 11-31...maybe the odd spike up to 40's and down below 10.

I predict that the market is crashing right now because someone who is supposed to "Make america great again" is going to make it rally when he becomes president. \

 

yes after it falls below 10 wait and then co relate market volatility with market movement.

one thing i have seen is that tops in market volatility or tops in market transactions/volume is easily exceeded in the short term.

so expect the VIX to break above ....50.

Ok I will.

Whatever time they announce our new president there will either be, a dump for Harris, and a rally for Trump. NOV 5th 2024, there will either be a hard dump or a rally. Maybe even sooner if one of them has a significant lead over the other where the other has no chance of winning

 

The VIX cannot ever fall below 10 again, to get near it's all-time low of 9. There is too much participation by retail now, since the pandemic.

With the job data that just came out, there WILL be a rate cut FOR SURE with all of the job data deteriorating, there is no way Fed can just leave the rate to be. With unemployment rate also dropping, he just won't go for the higher 50 bps rate cut that Wall Street was hoping for. But 25 bps cut, definitely!!

At the same time, it also shows the economy is not doing too bad as what everyone has been fearing all week. Its job number is better than last month at least and the unemployment rate is dropping which indicates more people are working and that indicates an increase in productivity which will help keep the inflation down.

I see an up day for today. The job situation has deteriorated but not too deteriorated into a recession, just deteriorated enough for a Fed rate cut. So it's a win-win for the market. Rate cut + no recession + inflation rate moving into target range.

 

This market is an out of control algo mess. I laugh how people take it seriously with news or fundamentals. Like any of that matters.
