Manufacturing is 50% of China's GDP and and in the US it's 10%

Our gdp relies on 70% of consumers to spend.

With this change of course our GDP is going to plummet along with China's. I don't care how many people thing bringing back manufacturing to the US is already great thing...its NEVER going to work!!!!

We won't make it without China...

    Sorry.

If it ain't broken why fix it.

For how many decades did this economy grow with China manufacturing most US goods??

Now all of the sudden one person thinks it's an issue.....the issue here is now that this will never work, you can read this post in 3...4...5...10 years. What's happening today will only create chaos and economic collapses worldwide.

We must get manufacturing back to this country in a big way. There is no other viable option.

I’m all for bringing manufacturing back to the US, but let’s do it in a way that doesn’t set the damn thing on fire. Right now, as I see it, we’re just gonna screw over American companies and consumers more than anyone else, especially the Chinese. And let’s get real for once. It takes years to get factories and plants up and running. So, unless we’ve cracked the damn code on building them overnight, maybe everyone should just chill out and actually think this through.

I don't agree. Companies are willingly making investments here and building new plants. I realize it will take time but it needs to start now. For goodness sake, most of our medicines are manufactured in China. This has to change.

    Here's a scenario.
If I want to buy an expensive electric bike in Australia, what are my best options?
    Australian bikes super expensive.
    American bikes super expensive.
    Chinese bikes cheap and good.
Where do you think I'll buy?
Online China as long as I wait for it a few weeks!

China can quite control the whole world.

China produces almost 100% of the world's rare earth material,
    API Active pharmaceutical ingredients ...

After China has > 20 aircraft carriers, China will be able to flex its muscle
on Atlantic Ocean (esp the north), Pacific Ocean (esp the north), Indian Ocean, Arctic Ocean.

Are you fucking kidding me? They’re NOT building factories here out of the goodness of their hearts. It’s because Trump’s got them by the balls, threatening them with tariffs and all kinds of punishment if they don’t play along. Let’s not pretend this is some voluntary, feel-good move.

    Must get back???

It should have never left the US to begin with....now they think setting tarriffs on other countries is the way?????

There are countless ways to do this. The way they are going about doing it is NOT the way!!!

We are going to have a deep global recession because of these tarriffs. Unemployment is going to surge. Gdp is going to collapse and inflation is going to soar. This is the perfect recipe for economic disaster.
