I've been working with a coder(with decades of experience) who quit his job recently to pursue starting a trading career. We've teamed up and he is coding for me full time, in return jumping him light years ahead in technical understanding and how the markets work. We essentially have everything we need. Just making this post to see if there's anyone interested in working with / joining us for the benefit of everyone. To be clear I am not asking for advice on what I should be doing(although if you want to give legit well intentioned advice, I surely will read it, open to learning or hearing different opinions). However, we already largely know what we need to do and we work aggressively towards those benchmarks and goals everyday. Purpose of this post is just simply throwing it out there seeing if there's anyone who has an idea that would benefit all parties and wants to team up, but they are willing to put in at least some time and effort to make that a reality as well. -Working on automated information (like time framing up, time framing down information and etc) to assist in manual trading and for bots. -Working on creating automated bots, based on multiple different concepts and strategies. -Understand scalping, short, mid and long term trading. -Already have a funded trading account as my main account. Withdrew over $1k this week from it and the account size is only $2000.00 total. Also have profits built up and 80% of those will be mine too in 30 more days. This is still being discretionary traded, but still is based on the principals that we are working on automating. As more profits come in, will be making additional accounts with other companies that allow copy trading, to both spread risk and compound the income generation. Ultimately our focus is primarily on streamlining things to make our manual trading better, data quickly available for precise reading and / or depending upon the effectiveness of the bots just have them trade. Although in my experience manual trading generally produces better results than automation (assuming all things are equal). Again though, open to working with someone else, who may already have connections or interest in what we're doing whether that be now or down the road. I am not particularly interested in marketing, for me want to focus on my manual trading, but also don't want to miss out on other chances to make connections or other opportunities. Neither of us have any issues with voice conversations, webcam or even meeting in person. Although he is not located in the US, I am however. Kind of long winded post, hopefully it made at least some sense. Thanks for taking your time to read. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Funny you posted this as I was just revisting some strats I came up with with TradeIdeas oddsmaker. I ran them last night after a year or so of ignoring them because I felt the results were too good to be true. Surprisingly the results were still fairly robust & at least deserve to be check into further imo. I know oddsmaker is probably only good for initial thesis verification. But I need to drill down further & work w someone on further validation. I was even thinking of contacting my local university to see if any students were interested in doing something like this. My technical chops are limited as I am a no coder dinosaur but do have over 25 yr experience in this game. Reach out if interested.
Not sure why you want another developer as you already have one with decades of experience. Coding bots and automated systems doesn't require a full team of developers. Just one is required (been there, down that). The hard part is finding a profitable system.
It has to be my poor communication skills, sorry if that is the case. I genuinely try my best to be clear. I am not looking for another developer. I have someone who literally quit his job and is 100% motivated and focused on trading as he also has a family, so he is taking it extremely serious. Looking for someone that would want to join and use something we have or will have and in return wants to add value to us, however that may be. Maybe someone wants to trade live with us, maybe someone has connections and would be interested in selling something we produce for mutual benefit. I mean those are just off the top of my head. Not in need for anything, but as was trying to explain if this is of any interest to someone we're open to pretty much anything and willing to even meet in person.
Yes, additionally as was saying manual trading is our focus. At least as far as retail goes, manual trading is generally superior to automation. However, it does look promising will be able to produce at least on bot with a positive profit factor.
Just fair warning. We have ET trolls in these message boards masquerading as regular retail traders or investors. They will even bait you and say, you do not actually, trade. Of course, that is a ruse to make you reveal your trading systems or methods. These guys are vendors actually, taking other traders trading systems and methods and selling them as their own. They should come out as vendors and pay Baron his fees but, so far, they remain in the closet. How do I know? In one of his posts, one of them was trying to sell his wares to other traders or investors in the ET message boards. No one was interested. This guy also, talks gibberish to give the impression that he is a knowledgeable trader. He doesn't speak the lingo so, you know he is fake and cannot trade out of a wet paper bag, even if his life depended on it.
I appreciate the warning. Yeah, I am not beyond being fooled of course, but I know a large type of trading indicators, styles and etc. So, if someone is saying something that doesn't make sense or I know is conceptually incorrect regarding the markets. I'll likely pick up on it quickly. Plus I wouldn't be releasing too much information without at minimal communicating with voice conversations, if not even meeting in person.
Both Tradestation and Ninja trader. Ninja trader more aligns with our current goals though as far as trade copying and etc, so that will likely be the main focus moving forward.
Read above, & still no idea what you are looking for. Inability to precisely define concepts is required both for trading, and software development.
