I'm surprised Morgan Stanley isn't up there considering they are purported to have the best PWM division at least for HNW clients. The first four are all big providers of 401K so that makes sense. I wonder why Vanguard beat out Fidelity & SSGA by so much over the years? My first job's 401K was managed by SSGA (State Street Global Advisors) and they used to have their own private index funds for all the major averages. This was in 1993 and their expense ratio was 4 bps for their S&P 500 fund. It was less than even the public Vanguard funds.
%% Dont know, I've seen more Fidelity ads than Vanguard ads, WSJ,IBD. If correct, Vangurd started sooner , with Wellington Fund ,1929??. John Bogle had a good saying '' the enemies of of an investor are emotions + exspences''
%% EASY to make a LOL math mistake And many AUM lists exclude hedge funds; or they group them in with Paul Tudor Jones, seperate .
