I wanna make money from trading options and since I already invested some 15 years into this already, it's gonna be this or nothing at all. At this point I have some promising trading strategies but I wanna debunk them with a partener before proceeding to the next step. Actually I have: - Historical options data for all US equity and indexes since 2002. - A software to import that data and use it into backtests, plugging in my strategy ideas and option pricing models. - Background in corporate finance and math, basically I used to work as a quant for an options market maker. "Beating" (doing better than) the market is not easy, there's 100k *registered* quants on Wilmott and with 100% probability, almost none of them does that. Add to that at least 10,000,000 self-identifying retail "traders" (lol, "self-identifying" .
Monetization path for this partenership: 1) Our own money. World is cruel and unfair and will take advantage of you one day crushing you next day without the least of a moral guilt trip. So whatever I do was, is and will still be applicable to my own capital. 2) Selling to corporate. It's one thing to joggle with $10,000 and a whole other to use $100,000,000 or $1B. Some shit, most shit, just isn't available unless you got the balls for it, literally that "$B". 3) Since what I do also works for my net wealth, ultimately if corporate doesn't care, we can still leverage to retail like us. As one guy said here, what'd you do if you had a viable trading strategy that just isn't catching enough for corporate but still is way better than the usual retail gamble? Sell it for $500 to 1000x people, that is. I imagine the guys paying $500 for a strategy as at least $100k net worth so that's still $100M net worth in assets. It's still #2. I'm not retail, I'm corporate. No wonder since I want to make a "B" for myself solely. If I succeed in this endeavour I'll be at least $1B net worth to start with. Piss off Destirterio and who else who attack innocent wannabees.
what is the attraction to options - i hope you are selling them and not buying them - cause you will never make money buying them.
I know what you say and mostly agree. On #2, I'd mostly ask corporate to sell. But I'm Romanian and we have a saying which translates to "stealing your own hat". In making money there's these options: 1) Steal someone's hat. You win. 2) Have your hat stolen. You lose. What I propose and why I'm gonna be a billionaire is the 3rd way: 3) Steal your own hat
Not sure what you are missing to achieve your goal. You're looking for a partner for what exactly? Money, programming skills, trading skills, others? So basically, what I understand is for the last 15 years, with all your abilities and knowledge, you haven't succeeded and now you're looking for someone to help you reach your goal of making money with trading. Do I get this right?
Yes. If I can emphasize I'd also wanna point out that although I'm a clear loser at this point. There's quadrillions in what "losing" means beyond this point.
>> Not sure what you are missing to achieve your goal. Well I'm a communist. We had our go, didn't work, take it and fuck it. Do whatever you want with it to make yer people happy.
>> Question still stands open, what do you need a partner for??? I call it "rubber duck debugging". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubber_duck_debugging At this point, forall that concerns you, I am already dead. Which doesn't mean the shorting are less deserving of a live than the longers.
BTW I'm still an EU guy not looking for partners. Catch you in one of our mountains and shoot you summary there. Yeah, it's us.
