Do you know any CFD or FX broker who is also offering Futures on the SP500 with low maintenance margins overnight (less than 1% please) ? Goal is to reduce the Swap fees from normal SP500 cfds where I can get up to 200:1 leverage (initial with 50% closeout level) overnight.
Are the margins not 5% too for overnight on Futures CFDs at IB ? Overall Interactive wants to high margins for me. Another broker you can recommend ?
How much are you paying in overnight swap fees with your CFD broker? TD365 offers 200 to 1 leverage, fixed spreads with overnight swap fees of interbank + 2.5%.
That is too much, I was looking for no additional Swap fees only futures prices here. That is why I asked, I am paying now 0.9 points per day for 1 SP500 CFD (contract size of 1). So basically 6% for Swaps per anno here.
I see. To answer your question directly, maintenance margin (the amount of margin to hold overnight) is not decided by the broker, but by the CME. It is currently $14,410 per 1 ES. Since ES is $20 per point, you should compare that to 20 SP500 CFD contracts.
I know that ES is $50 per point. But I meant not real Futures, but Futures CFD alike, so basically CFDs but in the shape of Futures with no additional Swap fee in comparison to normal Futures contracts. So then the spread would be double of that to get the finance cost from overnight holdings here. I have seen this at Activtrades broker for example. But I wanted to ask here. I heard many complaints that they forfeit total profits at Activetrades so I do not have much trust in them.
Several CFD or FX brokers offer futures on the SP500 with relatively low maintenance margins overnight. One notable broker is Interactive Brokers. They offer SP500 futures with competitive margins, often less than 1%. Interactive Brokers is known for its low-cost structure and range of instruments, making it a solid choice for traders seeking to reduce swap fees. Another broker to consider is TD Ameritrade. They also offer SP500 futures with attractive margin rates and a comprehensive trading platform. It's important to verify the specific margin requirements and overnight policies directly with the brokers, as these can vary and are subject to change. Thoroughly compare the terms and conditions to find the best fit for your trading strategy. Best of luck
