Five million residents were ordered back into a six-week lockdown beginning midnight Wednesday into Thursday as soaring community transmission of the coronavirus brings more than 100 new cases daily. A further 134 infections were detected in the past 24 hours -- small in comparison to the tens of thousands in hard-hit countries such as the US and Brazil, but considered a major spike in Australia, which had otherwise been successful in containing COVID-19. The country's largest supermarket chain, Woolworths, said it had reimposed buying limits on items including pasta, vegetables and sugar after shoppers rushed to stores across Victoria state. Experts have warned that people everywhere will have to get used to the "new normal" of on-and-off restrictions as new clusters emerge and subside, while there are also concerns over the economic and mental health impacts the measures will bring. "As frustrating as it is I support (the lockdown) -- but ask me again in six weeks," stoic Melbourne resident Michael Albert told AFP. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said the Melbourne lockdown would cost the economy up to Aus$1 billion ($700 million) a week, telling public broadcaster ABC the burden would "fall heavily on businesses". "This is not the situation that anybody wanted to be in, but it is the reality that we must confront," said state Premier Daniel Andrews. Restaurants and cafes will be limited to serving takeaway food, while gyms, beauty salons and cinemas will be forced to close again. Residents will be restricted to their homes except for work, exercise, medical care or to buy essentials -- a return to social isolation that was only recently lifted. CA was ranked the 3rd most restrictive lockdown... https://timesofsandiego.com/politic...own-california-is-3rd-most-restrictive-state/ Yet the Governor is imposing some lockdown measures again in many counties...
After telling us we can't be shut down forever a few weeks ago... Last week Clown Fauci told shutdown was never good enough... https://www.breitbart.com/clips/202...s-because-only-50-of-the-country-locked-down/ Thursday during a radio interview with the BBC, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci said the United States is facing a resurgence of the coronavirus because “even in the most strict lockdown, only about 50% of the country locked down.” Fauci said, “Well obviously it’s a serious situation if you look at the different curves between the European Union, the U.K. and others how they handled the outbreak, they had big spikes and then brought it down almost or even to baseline in some countries. The situation in the United States is very problematic.” He continued, “We are seeing very disturbing spikes in different individual states in the United States. What we’ve seen over the last several days is a spike in cases that are way beyond the worst spikes that we’ve seen. That is not good news. We’ve got to get that under control, or we risk an even greater outbreak in the United States.” He added, “When you look at the fact that we never got things to baseline where so many counties in Europe, the U.K., and other countries did. They closed down to the tune of 97% lockdown. In the United States, even in the most strict lockdown, only about 50% of the country locked down. That allowed the perpetuation of the outbreak that we never did get under very good control. And now, all you have to do is take a look at the news at night, and you see people congregating at bars without masks, congregating in different types of groups that are well beyond the recommended number. What happens when you do that, and you don’t wear a mask, you get the kind of outbreaks we’re seeing.”
Death rates everywhere is going down, even in the US. They keep harping on the infection rates going up. Hell, if you test people, they go up? Duh. Other countries have not tested to the extent of the US, over 38 million. Otherwise, extreme liberal media would not have the opening to lie? The extreme liberals would also, use the paranoia and hysteria to justify the mass use of absentee ballot voting where Democrats hope their fraud gets them the wins. Democrats never waste any opportunity, no matter how little to destroy the US from within or to blame President Donald Trump at every turn. They badly, want him out of office. Vote out all Democrat politician do nothing bums out of office on November 3, 2020.
One problem is the data. I don't know if all the new cases we are having include retests and antibody tests... Not from the data I see... But.. CA which was the model of lockdown early and hard... is looking to be on the verge of bad outcomes.... Cases are accelerating... 7 day average of daily deaths is rising. (to me this is bad news if this continues and it is not a statistical trick.) We need a different model and a smarter governor. his lockdown is failing within weeks of a partial re opening. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/california/
We won't before the next election. Then after the election, the media will go silent as they won't want to impact Biden so it'll just vanish in a puff of air.
Covid-19 will mysteriously disappear IF Biden wins in November. It will be called a miracle by the leftist garbage media.
