Location of a broker

  1. Hey guys, I had just thought of another time-related execution question. Doesn't a broker have to be located near the exchange for it to offer you super fast executions? Does anyone have any information on MS's for the network connection to the exchange from a broker? I am only interested in futures brokers. For futures the exchange would be the CME in chicago.

    Thanks,

  3. Usually, it's more dependent on the technology that a broker is using rather than the actual broker location. For example, even if a broker was physically located in San Fran, they'll have their technology solutions that execute the trades in a data center near the actual exchange for quick execution.
