    EXCERPTS:

Apple Computer Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs on Tuesday unveiled the iPhone, its new touch-screen mobile phone that will be able to play music, surf the Internet and take pictures, among other features.

"Apple is going to reinvent the phone," Jobs said during his keynote speech at Macworld. "After today, nobody is going to look at these [other mobile phones] the same way again."

    EXCERPTS:

Apple Computer, for example, will pay a higher price for a chip that makes the sound better in its iPod. That is why Linear has such high profit margins, says Doug Freedman, an analyst at American Technology Research.

I called LLTC Investor Relations last week and confirmed that earnings will be released next Tuesday after the bell.

IF this company announces its news chips will be used in the iPhones, the stock should do well.

Keep an eye on LLTC next Tuesday.

    EXCERPTS:

U.S. stocks are expected to rise next week, as quarterly reports from Apple Inc. and International Business Machines could help fuel the fever for technology stocks.

"What we're likely to see are a continued string of positive earnings surprises and stronger-than-expected economic news," said Kenneth Tower, chief market strategist at CyberTrader. "That should be supportive of higher stock prices."
