Searched around quite a bit but can't find a direct answer so sorry if this has been dealt with already.

In the past I've spread investments across more than one broker to stay within the $500k SIPC insurance coverage, and I'm currently looking to do some consolidating.

I know that an individual account and a joint account (individual+spouse) are considered 2 separate entities by SIPC and therefore each would be covered up to $500k. But what about opening an additional account as a single-member LLC? Would that be covered separately as well thus increasing coverage within that one broker up to $1.5 million across the 3 accounts?
