There's a reason why Cleveland is cheap and Hong Kong is expensive. Actually a lot more than one reason! In related but equally useless news, I also hear it's very cheap to live in Haiti.
If these numbers make sense and are legit, then skip Cleveland OH and move to Vegas? How bad can that be?
Actually a lot of tech companies are trying to move their lower end work like customer service/application processing... to Las Vegas, with Phoenix and Denver popular as well. A few tried with their software devs but I think the rebellion rate was too high, so they just uproot the people who don't have as much leverage and might actually appreciate the trade-offs involved.
Best thing about moving to Nevada is that "no state income tax" is written into the state constitution and politicians can't change it without referendum IE people control their destiny in terms of state taxes.
What a bullock, and do what in Cleveland? Fix roofs and assemble refrigerators. Hk assesses a top 15% income tax rate. Rents and properties are high but one can find a pretty decent 3 br flat for around 30k hkd per month. Unless one wastes it all on booze and hoes (as many do) you can save up a fortune, given one earns a decent income or generates capital gains.
We're fairly happy in south Florida. Many wall st traders have relocated. Sunshine, low cost of living, Ocean views, Palm trees, same time zone as NY and no state income tax
South Florida is not Cleveland. I could imagine working out of Florida. I would be out fishing as often as I can.
