Line chart users?

Discussion in 'Trading' started by David's faith, Feb 26, 2024.

  1. I have seen so many tick chart and time candle chart users in my life, but never a tick based line chart user. Does anybody here trade with line charts

I just paper traded the ES for fun with it and was surprised how well it went

I use both candles and line chart. When they align it’s very likely to be the right direction.

Candlesticks and line charts are always 100% aligned
and as such are always in the right direction.

    Line charts are asstastically pointless.

Do not bother. Trust me on that, and I am a Unirenko trader.

    Try different time frames.

Well, technically, a line chart is made up of closing prices, whereas candlestick and bar chart includes high, low, open, and close. Hence, it shouldn't really matter what time frame you use, since both line and candlestick will use closing prices. They will move in tandem regardless. Cheers. :)

Well market doesn’t go technically as we wish. :D

  9. Well it shows double tops etc, convergence channels are recognizable as well as trends. It is missing information on wheter buyers or sellers dominate and which prices they see as expensive/cheap, where support and resistance are if the line punches through them etc. But it would be tradable pattern wise. Not that I would do it but I am atleadt surprised that newbs don't begin with lines before using candles.
