Dave Brooks calls holds himself out as a conservative... its worse than Boehner or Ryan calling themselves conservative. Brooks is the pinata/caricature/strawman/pinocchio house conservative the New York Times trots out to fail as a conservative while leftists beat on him. Brooks has repeatedly stated Obama has run a remarkably scandal free administration. I could go on and on. By the way, Trump supporters know he lies.
Right. David Brooks is a fake conservative who has a NYT column where he attacks real conservatives. He is a somewhat more intelligent male version of that woman Kathleen Parker who writes for the WashPost and once had a talk show with that creep Eliot Spitzer. The so-called conservative movement has disgraced itself with Trump. Not because they haven't opposed him but because they have been so over the top in denouncing him. From George Will on down to a dumb bimbo like Megyn Kelly, they have gotten it totally wrong on the only important issue, immigration, and shown us what sellouts they are. There are exceptions, eg Rush, Coulter, Drudge, but most of them act like what we really need is another George Bush. No thanks.
If these establishment Republicans were smart (and they aren't) they'd stop going after Trump. The people supporting him (and there is a legion) coalesce into a harder packed group every time someone like Brooks comes out and attacks Trump.

My beef with Kelly and Fox is that she is no journalist. No self-respecting journalist becomes the story or allows their personal political affiliation to influence their reporting. Fox has a very broad interpretation of what a journalist is. Its shameful. Nobody knew Cronkite was a total flaming liberal until *years* after he retired. Never during all of the Vietnam reporting did anyone once suggest that Walter Cronkite was a liberal. *That* is a professional journalist. Kelly, Hannity, O'Reilly, Van Susteren... none of them even remotely resemble actual professional journalists.
