I like Mr. Santelli. Too bad every republican has been perfectly OK with borrowing and spending for the past 30 years...BUT NOW IT'S A PROBLEM! I just love it when repubs say government is the problem. No shit, and they're the government too.
One, I don't think Santelli is a republican. Two, I don't think our current account deficit was 14 trillion 30 years ago. Three, republicans are not saying government is the problem, they are saying "big government" is the problem. Just wanted to make those 3 points. Carry on...
Santelli is definitely NOT a pub. At first I thought he was trying to boost ratings for Squawk, but I think he is the real deal, haven't watched CNBC since I completed my education as a market technician, but when I turned my parents on to investing, I told them this is one of the guys to listen to.
One, I didn't say Santelli was a republican. Two, the republicans wild eyed spending over the last 30 years certainly contributed to the 14 trillion. Three, republicans represent big government just like the dems do.
Over 80% of the debt has been accumulated since 2006, when the dems took congress. So yes, debt has been a small problem since forever, but over a 4 year period (out of those 30 years) we put 80% of the debt on. I never said republicans don't represent big government, I'm saying in general, they are ideologically opposed to it. Kind of like how Obama is ideologically opposed to Gitmo, but refuses to close it.
