Liberal Monopolistic CEOs...."I'm sick"....

  1. After hearing BS from Howard Schultz and Meg Whitman over the past two days....and now hearing from Hillary Clinton on CNBC....
I am visibly shaken and sick.

The America I grew up in during the 60's and 70's is "gone"....there is no more individualism.....

it's all about BIG corporations, BIG government, and Bureaucracy. Individual talent means nothing any more.

Please someone, tell me what country to move to.....

  2. About 10 years back, I looked into the possibility of "cashing out of America". I told wifey we should "pack up our shit and git"... but she said she couldn't do that so long as her parents were still alive.

I came to the conclusion that the best places to consider because of their capitalistic markets and freedom from government intervention all around... might be New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong, in no particular order.

New Zealand currently seems the preferred choice among the richest of the rich. Unfortunately, they may have already driven up the price of real estate and priced us lowly millionaires out of the market.

  3. I moved to Singapore after Obama won his 2nd term. I think the US is on a one-way trajectory at this point and I want no part of it.

I like the Netherlands, Amsterdam I think the most charming of all the Euro cities.

The problem anyone has moving to a new country is the language, assuming you speak English and that country doesn't. So that would bring the possible country list right down. The Netherlands is one of the few Euro countries where not speaking the language wouldn't be a problem.

Australia is nice but it's really isolated at the bottom of the world, plus the time zone difference doesn't make life easier if you do business with the northern hemisphere.

Maybe southern Spain as well, lots of expats down there, Spanish not needed as much as say French in France or Italian in Italy.

  5. I've heard there is an expat community of about 100,000 Americans in Costa Rica... ??

I actually made a post last night in P&R about real estate in Greece. It looks cheap. Friggin beautiful. Not sure how they would tax or what all it would entail... but the country is broke so real estate is cheap.

As for the language, they have apps now that are so good.... you have your own pocket translator.

  8. Even though RE prices in Greece may appear to be a bargain, it might be "penny wise and pound foolish" to buy there. Too much turmoil... and the politicos usually try to "solve their problems" by taxing anyone who has money or debasing the local currency.

Yeah thats what I was thinking too. There's gotta be a catch. I wonder how much that pool with that view would cost in Marin County though lol.
