Wait a minute! What's this I hear about Congress being willing to pay, using our money!, billions for a useless border fence. Where is G. D. Mexico in this deal? Trump assured us, over and over again, that Mexico was going to pay for his wall. That was the signature promise of his entire campaign! Turns out that promise was just another of Trump's continuous lies! What is wrong with you suckers that support this clown?

When Trump made that promise, numerous times, the number crossing the border illegally each year had already slowed to a crawl. Take that number and multiply it by the number of years the wall will last before it is torn down as a hideous eyesore. Then divide the result into 3 billion* times the same number of years plus 15 billion, and see what you come up with. Don't include the number of illegals tunneling under.

In future texts on the history of the U.S., when the Table of U.S. Insanity is illustrated, where will "Trump's Wall" rank? Probably below the second Gulf War, the Vietnam war, and the overthrow of Prime Minister Mossaddegh, but well above the 2016 Republican, Primary Campaign and Melanomia's speech to the 2016 Republican National Convention.

If you've ever visited the U.S. Mexican Border, particularly before miles of ugly double fencing or, worse yet, solid steel fencing was erected, then you know that much of it is, or was, spectacularly scenic, especially so in Spring. Thank God the Grand Canyon doesn't run along the U.S. Mexican border our we'd have a rusty steel wall on the North Rim.

  2. Time for the fine print of the boiler plate Trump contract. The "people" will be reimbursed via import taxes, jobs saved, long term cost reductions, etc., etc., after fronting the money. Probably not what the true believer had in mind. LOL

This could easily be dealt with by imposing a tax on all money transferred back to Mexico from those in this country illegally.

Estimates range from $24b to $50b a year. A 10% tax could pay for the wall in just a few years.
It's not an onerous tax and could end once the wall is finished, maybe keep a small 3-4% tax for maintenance of the wall.

piezoe, The only one who still wants a wall is Trump and that is because he is now president and out of touch with the people and believes what you and the media are saying about him renigging on the wall. But what you and the media don't understand is how much we want to stop illegal immigration. You and your side can try to paint us as anti immigrant, but that is because your side was born and will die out of touch with the people. I'm about sick of both you and your pathetic side of brain dead over the hill communists who post and say things based on what they thought and what the media says Trump is all about and said and what his supporters think when you never even ask us what we think but like the typical elitist think you know how we think and feel because you have already stereotyped us. There is nothing Trump has said or done you disagree with. Your hypocrisy is disgusting. And I will concede it is on our side also. So lets just agree that hypocrisy is disgusting and everywhere and pointing it out is the ultimate drag.

OK. I'm not seeing nor thinking what you are. But that's OK. What's not OK with me is outright lying. When Mexico pays for that Stupid Wall, which will have completely negligent impact on imigration from Mexico, legal or illegal, i'll apologize to the serial liar that is our President.

The Wall will create government and private sector jobs for a few years; especially jobs for legal Mexican laborers working for U.S. contractors. Are those the kinds of jobs you had in mind that would be created by building a useless and ugly wall. Is that how you want the money you send to Washington to be spent?

Go back to your little fantasy dreamworld and complain about the wall. There is no wall, there will never be a wall the kind you and your little liberal literal little minded people can comprehend. And don't make me say there will never be a literal wall, they'll do something for show. The word wall means new policy, no more illegals. What is it about keeping out illegals from our country you disagree with? Or are you one of those democrats that agrees with Trump that we should at least keep illegal aliens from entering our country? And yes I am for jobs for anybody, American or Mexican if they are legal.

You want your money spent in that way? Don't be a sucker. This guy Trump is a con artist and mentally ill. The sooner you recognize that, the better off we will all be! You can not be unaware that the Obama administration had already tremendously stepped up deportations and that, for whatever reason, illegal immigration slowed to a trickle well before Trump took Office.

Donald Trump fits the definition of Demagogue to perfection. Stoking of irrational fear with assurances that He will be better than anyone else at protecting you from these imagined fears is the classic tool of the Demagogue. (Rapists and murderers streaming across our southern border to take your job, Muslim Terrorists with suitcase nuclear weapons, and on and on). The Demagogue wants your obedience. He has an insatiable appetite for adoration. He makes a hole in one and is not satisfied until the world knows it. He is mentally unbalanced and extremely dangerous.

Well, that's the negative spin. The positive spin is he speaks directly to groups that previously only got blamed because they were male, had money, white skin or voted republican. I can accept some blame but after 8 years everyday getting blamed for everything with no concern whatsoever to my desire for a thriving economy, it's a welcome change. Don't worry piezoe, we're not as dumb as you think we are. You're just finally on the other side and now maybe understand why we went berserk every State of the Union listening to our president lie and blame us while the people cheered. Please at least admit that Donald Trump is a showman and he is putting on a good show for the action movie crowd. It's always the same, you take us literally but not seriously. You have not disagreed with one Trump policy and probably even agree, you just don't like the messenger because all his ideas are made palatable to the common man in a language we talk and think in everyday. Same ideas, different man, different party and you would be fine again. We view government as our wayward children, not as our mother and father. Your side gives government too much power and has unrealistic expectations of what they can achieve. Our side knows they just need to finally grow up. So, what do you think about George Clooney 2020? Now there's a showman! Largest female turnout in human history. Or would you prefer a more serious candidate who insists on shoving more socialism down our throat?
Always a pleasure communicating with someone I probably would never get to talk to in real life with a well reasoned point of view. In this case though, I'm afraid you have reverted back to a mirror image of a Trump supporter, in that your fears are as ungrounded as his promises.
