Elite Trader is probably the best place to learn about the markets (financial; trading and investing) but maybe not for real estate. So what's a good place to learn about real estate in general and US tax lien investing in particular? It can be the best place, too. See: http://www.forbes.com/sites/morganb...ou-need-to-know-before-bidding-for-tax-liens/ (Yep. I consulted moral guidance about its ethics.) http://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/061313/investing-property-tax-liens.asp Actually, many overseas folks do this. It only works in the US.
biggerpockets.com ? I know that there are some sharp real estate investors at patrick.net, but that's mostly politics stuff now.
I got involved in tax lien and real estate investing some years ago. I too was attracted to reports of high interest rates. What I found was that the annualized rate of return on each deal only mattered for bragging rights. The important issues are: 1) do I like doing this, 2) am I good at it, and 3) how am I doing over time? I was net profitable and had a lot of fun, but exchange-traded instruments work better for me.
