I had to tighten the belt on my recumbent exercise bike, it was popping as I pedaled.
To get to the belt, I had to take off the side panels. To get those off, I had to take off the pedals.

The right one came right off, but that left one. I tried and tried. I even used a long piece of pipe slipped over the wrench for more leverage.

And then I had a flash-back to a young vz working on some pos bicycle that I had somehow trashed the pedal on that I couldn't get off until the kind gent next door who I borrowed the tools from enlightened me. And with that, the light came back on. Duh. I'm glad there's a rubber mat underneath it, because I used a ton of wd-40 being stupid. And some choice words. :banghead:

Bottom bracket (bearings) is the same. One side is reverse threads.
