  1. I have figured out that if I place a trade and stop, it is better just walk away from my screen and do something else. It has been confirmed for me in stocks and futures. Intent gazing at the screen is not good for your pocketbook. If I scalp of course this is not valid, but I am trying to move away from scalping as my commissions are way up.

    This is since June.
So I go on a bike ride with my wife (who works from home) and when I go back either I am stopped out or I made some money...

EDIT; I play the micro e-mini and my commission is way too much for scalping. I know places where micro futures commission is .09 cents, sadly not with TDAmeritrade! I like the ToS too much to switch.

You are not making any money until you close your position.

  3. Yes, but scalping is just too expensive for me. Look how much I spent on futures commission! Nice swing moves are always manageable. I could even use a bracket order...

  5. I just bought 3 56, and 3 57 SPLV Oct calls and the commission is the least of the issue, the MM is a thief.

I am going to burn out/pass out soon from sleep deprivation, but before i do...

If your system isn't marketable (price taker) then it's a loser. Same can be stated about concern with rates. If you're focusing on costs you're doing it wrong.

I have heard there are commission free brokers in US, aren't there?

  10. Yes, but not for options or futures. I pay no commission for ETFs or stocks.
