LCD monitor blacking out?

  1. One of my LCD monitors is blacking out on me. When I turn it off and turn it back on it is fine for about 2 seconds and blacks out again on me. Can someone tell me what may be causing this? thanks

  2. video card? re-install latest drivers

  3. There is a sort of fluorescent bulb that illuminates the back of the screen. Perhaps there is a ballast that fires it or a, sort of converter that is malfunctioning.

I am not an expert, this is just one guess. I'm curious if someone with some knowledge will post. As I am wanting to know a little about everything, but not a lot about anything. :)

    Time for a new monitor.

P.S. Unplug the cable and plug it in again...check the pins inside the connector. Also bend the cable around a little bit. If you see any change...then buy a new cable (get yourself a nice shielded, long one, even if you do not need it now).

  4. Well it just decided to start working properly again. This Samsung LCD is only about 2 months old. Should I complain to the company?

  5. I would do SOMETHING about it! Where did you make this 600 hundred dollar investment that you depend on for your trading????

  6. plug in another monitor, if that works your monitor is the problem if it does the same thing take out your v/card clean it with a soft brush if it has a fan take the dust off-it , replace the card and hope for the best......

  7. When your opened up, get a can of that "canned air" and gently blow out the componets inside the case.

P.S. Check your power cable to the monitor. Question: When you "black out" does the green light go off too?

  8. Did you do ANYTHING...even just touching one of the cables...think now?

DON'T MESS WITH THEM WHILE YOU ARE PLUGGED IN....PLEASE

  9. No the green light stays on and you can see a very light gray shadow of the screen shot, so like you said before it might be the illumination light malfunctioning. Its ok now, but I hope it does'nt give me more problems down the road. I have 4 monitors so if it gives me a problem while trading I'm not going to blow out my account because of it:eek:

  10. Assume that it will and deal with it NOW. What is the policy of the place where you bought it? Bulgaria?

There is no place for "Hope" in trading or equipment.
