You need to be precise in your communication.
    No wonder Googling didn't help.

Do you hear the beep when you just power up your laptop?
    Is it
    S S L beep
    S S S S S beep
    L S L beep
    S L S beep

    or

    SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS beep?

Those are codes used by the motherboard makers.

Or do you hear the beep a few minutes / hours after you power up your laptop?

    S - short duration
    L - long duration

Please take care of your health. Stroke is no joke.

    TIA!
A transient ischaemic attack (TIA), or mini-stroke, happens when there's a temporary disruption in the blood supply to part of the brain. The disruption in blood supply results in a lack of oxygen to the brain. This can cause sudden symptoms like those of a stroke. However, a TIA does not last as long as a stroke

5 short beeps - CPU problem

It could be CPU failure or CPU connection problems.

A CPU chip has thousands of pins.
If one of the pins is not properly connected, then it won't work.

If you can do DIY, go dismantle the CPU from the motherboard, and fix that lousy pin/s
bent / oxidation or whatever problem.
You need to have a magnifying glass to do it.

Alternatively, replace it with a new CPU.

If not, smash the laptop with sledgehammer into pieces.

    TIA STROKE!

  5. 5 beeps as maxinger points out is a processor problem.

Just wanted to add that if it is a laptop, it is likely that the CPU started having troubles when the insulation around it got removed because of overheating.

It is normal in laptops, they suffer from lack of space for cooling.
If you venture yourself to open it, have a look at the thermal paste.

Constantly could also be a temperature problem.

  9. Maybe my response will be no help.... I can't see posts of others because I have them all ON IGNORE. :)

If you don't have control of your machine, you can try a boot disc from an optic drive if you have one, or a USB drive... something that will let you have control and then run some repair/diagnostic software that you might run in Safe Mode to hopefully isolate the problem. You might start with free software from Tweaking.com.

Troubleshooting could be a challenge. Your problem literally could be "anything"... GL

That is what I thought, overheating. OP could try and blow cold air at it if it helps.
