One of the strategies Donald Trump employed as he began putting his name on the U.S. political map years ago was championing “birtherism,” the long-held conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama was born outside of the U.S. and hence should never have been elected. He often chastised Obama and demanded the president produce his birth certificate, revving up an anti-Obama base that eventually helped put Trump in the White House.

Evidently, Trump may have been using the so-called birthers only as a means to an end.

His son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who is also a senior adviser to the president, allegedly told a former editor of the newspaper he once owned that the billionaire real-estate mogul didn’t believe his own “birtherism” claims, and only made them to charge up Republicans because they are “stupid,” GQ reported.

During a discussion on how to cover Trump, the former New York Observer editor, Elizabeth Spiers, claimed she told Kushner that she had serious problems with Trump’s repeated claims that Obama was not born in the U.S., to which Kushner allegedly told her: "He doesn't really believe it, Elizabeth. He just knows Republicans are stupid and they'll buy it."

Trump was ahead of his time. Now everybody knows republicans are stupid. It's all over the news. That's all they talk about. It's all they can talk about because they have nothing else to talk about.

  3. And the party of "intellectuals" thought Hillary was the answer. Bwaaaaaaaahaaaaa

Likely true,Trump all but admitted it when he said loves the uneducated.Trump has switched positions so often he could have ran for the democrat or republican nomination but he knew that democrats weren't stupid enough to nominate a fraudulent con man like himself. On the other hand Trump knew the republican party was so full of racists he could promise a wall and a ban to keep people of color out that he would have a pretty good chance of winning the republican nomination.

The funny thing is that all thought Hillary was going to win the election easily, just like they think they know where obama was born.. just like they think there is peer reviewed science showing man made co2 causes warming.

the polls were distorted over sampling democrats
obama never produced any evidence of his birth for a court and instead failed to appear
there is no peer reviewed science showing man man co2 is causing warming...

so which partied is the filled with stupid?
Democrats are like blondes who used to go around telling people they were smart.
Smart people don't go around having to say they are smart.

Another one flew over your anti Trump cukoos nest. There is a difference between stupid and absence of secondary education. It was perfectly clear to us. And he doesn't need to say it in a way you understand because you are beyond saving. So enjoy your education. Doesn't make you smart. Just formally educated. I know you love the educated, but somebody needs to also love the uneducated because many of them are poor, immigrants, or self made business men, to which your side has nothing to offer but pity or contempt and it shows.

I suppose it is time for me to point out something you are not aware of. It is time for you to realize the polls were accurate within the margin of error. And have an impeccable record of predicting the outcome of the popular vote since modern polling began. The pollsters estimated the the popular vote would go to Hillary. The polling organizations don't sample in a way that would permit them to predict electoral college outcome beyond assuming that the winner of the popular vote, if the win is by a statistically significant margin, will win in the electoral college also. Apparently they don't believe they need to change their sampling method, since there have only been five minority presidents in the nations history, and only two in modern times. And in one of the later cases the poll* results were too close to call and the popular vote ended in a statistical tie with the nominal edge going to the losing candidate.

What's interesting is that there are no examples of a president being re-elected who gained the White house with a substantial deficit in popular vote . This bodes ill for a Trump second term! If Trump runs and is re-elected he will be the first minority president in the nations history who lost the popular vote by a substantial margin and was then re-elected to a second term. He may need the Russians' help for real the second time around!

*Naturally that wouldn't stop the media from calling an election anyway. Most reporters never had a course in statistics.

Yeah, except we already know it will be an even greater miracle for him to win a 2nd term than it was a first. Just come up with a new way to predict it. The polling line doesn't hold much weight.

Hillary won the popular votes by millions, just as the polls said she would.Obama was never removed from office over the birther issue.Other than a small % of dumb ass birthers most Americans believed he was born here.Multiple state, federal and Supreme Court birther cases and they were all thrown out and even Trump threw birthers under the bus when he no longer needed them.

  10. No, not "all but admitted." He admitted it outright:

And why shouldn't he? Where would he be without the uninformed, low-information voter?
