https://finance.yahoo.com/news/just...00000-raised-gofundme-campaign-204550626.html Summary: Someone organized a GoFundMe campaign for Justice (!) Kavanaugh during the hearings and it quickly ballooned to $600k or so. He turned it down, despite the fact that there was no legal obligation to do so. Judicial ethics rules prohibit use of a judge's position to raise funds, but they do not apply to Supreme Court justices. So he could have easily taken the money. Maybe he could have bought a lake house, you know, like man of the people Bernie Sanders did. Part of the intent of the fund raising was that Kavanaugh and his family were going to need extra security after the leftwing craziness. I fear this is still a concern and he may have acted rashly in turning it down, since he is not wealthy. This is how people of character act however.
Love the liberal Yahoo line: "It is unclear why Kavanaugh took more than two weeks to put distance between himself and the fundraising effort." Uh, maybe because he had more important things on his mind that paying attention to some GoFundMe bullshit. I swear, they can't just give accolades. It has to be a mental deficiency.
Matters with regard to the GoFundMe business and Yahoo's editorializing are inconsequential compared to Kavanaugh's lies and prevaricating about more than mere inconsequential things before the Senate Judicial Committee. He doesn't belong on the court.
But he is on the court. Duly nominated, duly confirmed. Having a difference of political opinion on his previous rulings in not reason to deny appointment. He is in fact fully quaifled and that's all which matters. Allegations of past personal behavior presented in the fashion that it was, quite frankly, given more consideration than it deserved. He's in, deal with it.
He is on the court. It is wrong to celebrate that in any way! He's does not satisfy the requirement for ethical behavior, all other qualifications aside, and without regard to politics. It was a dark day for the Court and for America the day he was elevated to the Court.
You have no evidence or proof that his behavior is anything other than ethical. Allegation is not fact. Law school 101.
Of course I do, as do Millions of others. We have him on tape! And we have a copy of the letter he wrote signed "Bart"!
