Just took Rande Howel course tradersstateofmind.com . Any one out there took it and there thoughts on the course . I am going to go over the course again as he suggest . But when you are stressed out at a 10 in trading i think its impossible to talk your way back to a centered neutral mind . The problem its natural to be stressed when a trade goes against you and your too chicken too exit .
Oh, sorry. I thought you were trying to make money. I didn't realize you were trying to eliminate stress. If stress is the problem, I can think of a lot more better endeavors than trading (although I would not recommend chicken farming (or any farming for that matter.)) Have you considered getting a job? I hear they pay you the same even if it is going down and you never need any courage to exit.
Maybe the question is why are you stressed out? Are you trading too large? Do you have a fear of failure? Fear of being wrong? Fear of losing money? I think the bottom line is that somehow you have to train your brain where the only way you are wrong or fail is if you don't follow the trading plan. Further, are you guessing on your trades or following defined set-ups? You don't have to try to trade every swing.
The theory of the course is to have a clear mind with no bias or emotion . You know when you take a vacation and your mind is completely calm and centered . Thats how i want to start and end my trading day . I have been meditating for 2 weeks now and that has help alot . The course teaches you to be mindful while trading and to have a centered mind .
But you didn't answer any of my questions! Don't just post what you think is the solution. What is the underlying issue? Until you fully understand that, you don't have the necessary AWARENESS.
I guess i have most problem when on a losing streak and trying to break it .I make alot of trading errors not sticking to my plan . I compare it to having your computer on for a long time and it slows down and make errors. Then reboot the computer and it runs fast and efficiently . a big problem i have also is been a business man for most of my life so i am greedy in making money which is a negative in trading .
What the fearful emotions are really about is this: "Do I really know what I'm doing?" Forget about controlling your emotions and work on your trading plan or system. This consists of 2 things: 1. Find an edge 2. Optimize your money management You need a trading plan that you trust. Then, when you experience the inevitable losers, you will know that they don't matter, because you know the probabilities will play out. There won't be any emotions to speak of. In fact, it's boring.
Full disclosure..., I'm not a proponent of Rande..., but I'll set that aside 1.) You should have received coaching on how to never reach 10 2.) You should have also received coaching on how to back off 10 and back down to centered Inability to exit a loser at the appropriate time had absolutely nothing with being chicken ============ You paid for a course - I suggest you go back and ask some poignant and probing questions..., with expectation of getting answers / solutions ================ You been a member since 02 - way too long to be struggling like this RN
