I've been going on a spending frenzy for the last 2 months, buying up as much as I could on (...) before Trump steps into the WH and enacts his MAGA (that is, "screw the rest of the world") campaign. He pledges he would bring the inflation down, but realistically that ain't gonna happen when you slap a 1000% tariff on imports. Plus, Americans have become so spoiled with cheap imports for so long, it would be nearly impossible for them to quit their addiction overnight. And you thought people acting crazy following the pandemic lockdown was weird. This would be even more catastrophic. No longer being unable to blow their money on crap that they normally don't need would drive them insane. So just how bad will Trump's tariff tantrum stoke the flames of inflation?
Covid lockdown. This would be proportional to the lockdown IMO, since most people would not be able to afford things. At least, they wouldn't be able to buy as much as before should prices rise dramatically due to Trump tariffs.
BTW last time I went to Dollar Tree, this was exactly what I saw. Where would all these poor folks go?
There was No pandemic...I really dont know what you mean. Nothing to see. Actually you really shouldnt even be questioning things like this. Things are taken care of and that just the way it is. There is no room in america for people who ask too many questions.
This is why they created the DOGE chainsaw wielding commission, to fire all those do nothing shovel leaners and mouse jigglers who will no longer be able to drive up prices, spending our tax dollars on unproductive assets.
“…to fire all those do nothing shovel leaners and mouse jigglers who will no longer be able to drive up prices, spending our tax dollars on unproductive assets.” All the politicians are getting fired?
It's possible to find cheap and good stuffs. Sometimes, cheap is never good. Globalization is not always good. The benefactors of globalization tilts the balance of power. Expecting those sitting on the pantheon of power to let their power erode is very naive. Tariff is one of the reactions. The reaction of higher tariff, manufacturers can choose to make goods in countries with lesser tariff. Consumers can choose not to buy.
