From a foreign perspective it is in indeed welcome news that Obama has referred the latest crisis to other minds as well, namely Congress. Let's hope the days of George Bush are firmly in the past where 1 man makes those life threatening judgements all on his own.
The President is safely in Washington enjoying every luxury possible while billions of other people are desperately striving to stay alive.

It is high time imho that Congress reins in these very ordinary people with only average ability and foresight, and discusses these important matters collectively if low ability men like Bush are regularly getting elected.

Here in the UK, Parliament has at last asserted some spirit and stopped our very modestly talented Prime Minister and his half witted Foreign Minister - Silly Willy.

Why the President of a bankrupt country like the USA still thinks in terms of being judge, jury and executioner is beyond belief.

  2. Why?

Elections take a lot of money to win. A war is a way to pay back your defense contributors and keep the wheels of politics greased.

Nobody in politics that has been around cares about the people and why should they. They know you need to take care of yourself and the ones who back you. If not, then you will be out of a job.

We would all do the same in that position. Feast or Famine! It's your choice.

It used to be about improving things generally.
Then it came to improving things for one's financial backers as you point out.

What's the next step and it is usually down.

When the people continue to reward corruption and cronyism with votes in return for a check to sit on their collective asses, we've reached the endgame. It cannot get better without a systemic shock.

  5. One of the best ways to waste tax payer dollars is to let a whole bunch of ordinary people with average ability and foresight try to decide what's best for their country to do.

The exacerbation multiplies when that already bipartisan group is further divided.

Perhaps if Congress actually comes together and decides an attack is prudent, then all of Americans can share in the blame, you know, from a "foreign" perspective...

  6. Your words would make Satan a very proud papa!

  7. Yes, this is the Politics and Religion Forum but just tell us what today's settlement will be for the Footsee or S&P. Your silly political leanings are annoying.

Bush got approval from both houses of Congress, plus the UN.

And the US is hardly bankrupt.

And I agree completely with AAA, which is rare. Good topic for a new thread.
