James O’Keefe Files Lawsuit Against Twitter for ‘False and Defamatory’ Statements About His Account Ban

James O’Keefe, founder of Project Veritas, said last week that he planned to sue Twitter, Inc. following his permanent banning from the platform. On Monday, the lawsuit was filed.

Twitter said at the time that O’Keefe was “was permanently suspended for violating the Twitter Rules on platform manipulation and spam.”

“As outlined in our policy on platform manipulation and spam, ‘You can’t mislead others on Twitter by operating fake accounts,’ and ‘you can’t artificially amplify or disrupt conversations through the use of multiple accounts,'” the company added in a statement.

O’Keefe, in turn, said Twitter was defaming him with that explanation.

“This is false, this is defamatory, and they will pay,” said O’Keefe in his own statement. “Section 230 may have protected them before, but it will not protect them from me. The complaint will be filed Monday.”

    That complaint was filed today.

The Project Veritas announcement outlines the key points.

Twitter’s accusation of operating fake accounts was immediately challenged by O’Keefe, who maintains he has never done so.

The ban happened shortly after O’Keefe and Veritas released video featuring CNN Technical Director Charlie Chester describing how he said CNN worked to support Joe Biden‘s presidential campaign and get Donald Trump out of office, in a case of just amazing timing.

“Despite these efforts to silence the truth,” the announcement reads. “Project Veritas will continue to seek remedy in the courts where the rule of law has final say.”

  2. As soon as Twitter shows one fake account linked to or used by O'Cunt, his case will be thrown out of court as bullshit.

Well they will have to prove that O'Keefe controlled the fake account. I don't doubt that he used fake accounts and it will probably be easy for Twitter to prove so in court (via login IP addresses, etc.)

  4. The thing is the whole case rests on damage from the claim by twitter that O'Cunt used fake accounts. If Twitter shows any evidence that they reasonably believed O'Cunt to use or s upport fake accounts in violation of their services, O'Cunt's case becomes diarrhea and will not go anywhere.

Twiter is a private entity and they cna ban users for any perceived violation of the terms of service and for O'Cunt to claim that doing so twitter caused him harm to file a suit.

O'Cunt lost his case the minute his pleasing claimed he was a journalist and his job demands on ethical conduct and reliable and accurate reporting. I am sure it will take a Twitter attorney all of 5 minutes to show his stance is full of shit and the case will be dismissed.

You don't file defamation suits when someone says something about you unkind, you file one successfully when someone goes public claiming something about you that is not true or a reasonable person would know is not true that directly harms you as to be proven.

You hear that @Ricter? You have a case against @Baron for when you got banned that time Tsing went crying to him accusing you of having multiple accounts because numbnuts couldn't figure out I was a different person.

You should pull an Avenatti and demand a settlement lest you drag his forum through PR mud.

why would you call any muckraker against corruption O'Cunt.
While I had problems with that partisan Moore... I also gave him credit for exposing the Bush family ties to oil money and favoritism / corruption.

  10. O'Cunt because he is a whiny vag crying because a private platform banned him for violating terms of service.

If he was such a respected journalist from a real organization then go on Fucks news and get some airtime or Newsmaxx. He is just another bullshit artist trying to get his 15 minutes of fame because Newsmaxx and OAN would not hire him.

people need to stop getting their vag dry when twitter blocks them.....
